Then at 9:00 the space will transition into a party with DJs Kids Meal and Wick-It doing there thing with music on patio by The Lovenoise Soundsystem (DJs Elevation and Soul Infinite).

And then, a first for Nashville, A Tribe Called Quest member/producer/DJ Ali Shaheed Muhammed will be spinning a special DJ set!

YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS PARTY!

Project 24: Wick-It

DJ Wick-It (one of our favorite DJs) was definitely having the best week ever with his big article in The Nashville Scene followed up by AudRoc and Rex2 rocking a WorkForce Rebellion/Wick-It production at the August edition of Mashville. On top of that the Rebellion gave him four posters to share with friends. He deserves it, dude is a cool, down-to-earth guy and a sick-ass DJ.

WorkForce Rebels on stage

Here's a few action shots of our friends Kids Meal and Crisis rocking WFR t-shirts on stage at Strictly Business back in July. Also pictured is Count Bass D on the 1s and 2s in front of a WFR panel, and Kids Meal onstage at Mashville with a hype man holding a WFR Kids Meal poster. Thanks for representing fellas!

Project 23: Obama

We teamed up with Tayst Fashion and created an Obama themed production on our portable wall. AudRoc really hooked up the giant potrait. It will be the backdrop of the stage for Tayst's One Year Anniversary Fashion Show. It goes down Friday, 08-08-08. We also created a limited run of 18" x 24" posters to sell at the event. After the event the mural will be displayed inside Tayst Fashion.

Mr. LoveNoise, Eric Holt

We've been working with Eric Holt and his company LoveNoise for about 4 years. He's a supporter of the Rebellion and Barack Obama, so we made sure he got the first WFR Obama poster. We are planning a big WorkForce Rebellion and LoveNoise event. It is planned for Sunday, October 12, 2008. Check back for more details.

Gallery East

Gallery East is a new spot in the Five Points of East Nashville. It opens Friday 08-08-08. It's our friends from King Funk and Ochoa Inc. and the space will combine art and music. We did their logo and created a pattern for the exterior. WorkForce Rebellion will be doing a big art show and party at Gallery East on Saturday, September 27, 2008. Check back for more details.

Rex2 & Riet - Street Fighter

The guys from AM7 crew in Nashville (Verse, Rago and Riet) invited Rex2 to get down on their "Street Fighter" themed production. Street Fighter is a popular, martial arts, video game first released in 1987. It is still releasing updated versions. Here's Rex2 next to the character "Zangief" by Riet, and the sketch by Rex2 below.

Don't Believe The Hype

Nashville Lifestyles recently did a story on the artwork adorning the walls of Kid Rock's Nashville condo (If you follow this blog you already know Kid Rock has some of Rex2's work). It was a two page article and Rex's paintings are the only ones pictured on the second page. Here's the jacked up part: They credited the paintings to a Los Angeles based artist with no mention of Rex2 anywhere in the article. On top of that their website used a close-up of Jam Master Jay on the front page referencing the story. Then in the next issue they ran a tiny correction, misspelling Rex's name. Good job guys, way to represent for Nashville.

July Mashville

The Rebellion took part in the July edition of Mashville. It was packed. This time around, Audroc and Rex2 rocked a flowery little production.

Count Bass D

We go way back with Count Bass D. Back when he and Egon were doing the "911 Emergency Show" and rocking parties at The Mediterranean Cafe. Actually we go back to Southern Fried Funk days (1995). He was back doing some work in Nashville and dropped by the Combined Visions house party. Rex2 busted out his Biz Markie stencil and painted this canvas for Count. We also hooked him up with a Rebellion t-shirt.

If you don't know Count Bass D you're slippin.

House Party

Our homie Tyzia with Combined Visions had a pre-party for "Strictly Business" at his crib. We got a sneak peak at his clothing line Heavy's new 5 panel hats ... they're nice! It was a chill night with interesting people and good music. While there we had a chance to snap a flick of the completed project we did at Combined Visions' previous party "Ice Cold."

Mashville: Action Photos

Our homie Dirty D hooked us up with some incredible photos he took at the Mashville event.
He was only person at the event that got a "Gas: The New Gold" poster. That's because we only made one before it started raining.
We plan to finish the other seven posters. Check back.
Look at the girl posing with Audroc's piece at the flick above!

Gas, The New Gold - Mashville

Rex2 and Audroc took part in the June edition Mashville held at The End in Nashville. The idea behind the production/poster is the universal theme of the summer. There was a cookout with some DJs. WFR was the "live art installation." The Rebellion looks forward to working with the fine folks from Mashville again.

Ice Cold Live

Audroc and Rex2 got down at the Combined Visions jam "Ice Cold" in May. It was a good time. Rebellion supporter Dylan Mire was there taking photos, and he supplied us a few for the blog. We're hoping to get a good flick of the completed project hanging in its new home. Check back for that.

Jerry's Demo

Rex2 along with Verse - IA, AM7, Rago - IA and Riet were invited by Jerry's Artarama in Antioch, TN to come and demonstrate painting techniques with Montana Gold spray paint. Rex2 started at 11:00 am and finished up at 4:00 pm. Here is the finished canvas. Thanks to Shannon at Jerry's for the invite.

Project 21: So Flossy

We went all out on this. We teamed up with our friends at Studio 1403 and King Funk to create an interactive art show at their last party. The party was called "Butt Naked Booty Bash" and they brought in DJ Slugo, world famous house DJ from Chicago. It went down on Friday, March 28, and the almost famous WorkForce Rebellion provided the art.

What we did:
We created a visual theme that would be incoporated in mulitple ways at the event. That element was a WorkForce Rebellion pattern based on the fashion icon Louis Vuitton. We incoporated this pattern in a large scale graffiti mural (which included Rex2-TM, Verse-IA, AM7, Rago-IA, Audroc-TM), we used the same pattern on the wall behind the DJ, on a limited run of t-shirts and on 20 one-of-a-kind prints (by Audroc and Rex2) that some guests recieved. We also hung a lot of our other prints.

The party was great, and we hope to participate in some future events. Special thanks to rebellion supporters Aaron Ochoa and Thad.

Project 20: Rex2 Self Potrait

Rex2 created this poster design of himself.
